      Nope, I work in a facility that’s 24 hour staffed. Holidays don’t really apply to us. This was actually the first year I’ve even had Christmas off in like 5 years.

      A lot of service workers don’t get New Years Day off, despite it being a federal holiday in the US.

      The dollars must flow, or something like that.

        Being a federal holiday doesn’t mean shit in a country with the worst worker protections i the semi-developed world. No mandated holiday pay, no mandated vacations, just shut up and work

    Best is the 3rd shift factory workers that’ll be on their lines and don’t even get a break to watch the countdown.
    I don’t miss that shit at all.
    But it was still better than working overnight on daylight savings time switch and having an extra hour of work the other two shifts didn’t get.
