I’ve really been struggling with seeing everything and just, at the end of the day, there’s nothing I can do. I will continue to vote and donate and protest, but… I really don’t think it matters anymore. The system is so out of whack, so built on trusting people in certain positions to act in a certain way, that when people don’t there’s no real guardrails to stop it. Maybe I’ve just grown nihilistic, but… Sure seems like we’re fucked.

You could do something meaningful like joining PSL and engaging with the community instead of voting and donating to capitalist parties.

Do you know if there’s an underground railroad to help at-risk women, persons of color, and lgbtq people safely escape the United States yet?

I want to sign up as a conductor because I can’t escape myself and as long as I still LOOK like a white dude and the government still thinks I’m cis I can at least be a useful for flying under the radar.

We can’t expect Canada to take refugees lightly.

People need someplace where they can feel safe enough to collect themselves so they can cross the border prepared and introduced to the proper receiving channels of the receiving country, be it Canada or elsewhere.

There are places in the United States, though, that will remain somewhat safer for longer. Making it possible for people to clear out of the most dangerous areas to these halfway-havens is crucial to ensuring that they SURVIVE LONG ENOUGH to get their affairs in order for wherever they wish to end up.

Seems that you missed my point that Canada is moving in the exact same direction the US is. The conservatives here are mirror of Trump, and they’re most likely to win a majority in the upcoming election.

seems you missed the part where I specifically mentioned how people may want to go someplace other than canada

                be it Canada or elsewhere

wherever they wish to end up.

At this point all you’re doing is making excuses to not help.

This is a quintessentially liberal comment. There is no substance to it, no concrete plan of action that would help anyone. Just fantastical thinking and moralizing. Bravo.
