What’s it looking like for a third party? Action 2.5 years later isn’t action at all. We tried the “please barely don’t be fascists” and it didn’t work. Where are we going to put our vote to move forward?

There are real risks with relying on a private company, owned by Elon Musk, as a channel for communications

Damn right. Time to fire up a mastodon instance.

This should have started a trend a long time ago, all the gov stuff should have moved to the federation or bluesky(i know…)

        bluesky

Why? So the same thing can happen as with X? Jack Dorsey is yet another unhinged billionaire with problematic views of his own.

        Federation is the only answer.

That’s why I put the “I know” bit in there…but right now musk is the target…show these billionaires they’re not in control and they’re going to lose money if no one uses their platforms and buys their products and things will change. We have control more than we realize, we just don’t use it properly.

            I have a different view.

Have all governments move straight to FOSS federated platforms, so that the billionaire that caused this exodus (Musk) is eaten alive by other billionaires so that they learn that when they fk up, the entire billionaire class loses revenue. So they can experience some class infighting for once instead of laughing all the way to their pedo orgy islands.

If one billionaire’s F*ck up leads to another billionaire’s increase in fortune (Bluesky), then all you’re rewarding is them to keep doing what they do with their manufactured “competition” BS.

There’s no such thing as “target” and “non-target” billionaire, either. They all are targets so don’t let yourself get distracted.

What is weird is that engagement without paid boosting is now mostly decimated on twitter. And the part that is boosted gets mostly engaged by bots. The situation is frankly ridiculous and no competent organization or personnel should be giving anything but RSS one way update there.
