Whether this joke makes sense depends on how you pronounce Nisan. Some places pronounce it ‘nee-san’ similar to ‘knees and’. Other places province it ‘ni-san’ with the ni as is nickel, and the joke doesn’t really work.

31·1 month agoThe email continues that UK employees “need to be mindful of the hours they work and are asked to have 11 hours outside of work in each 24-hour period.”
This is an attempt to stay within working time regulations in the UK but they are violating this bit
By law (The Working Time Regulations 1998), employees and workers have the right to the following rest: …. between working weeks – 24 hours every 7 working days or 48 hours every 14 working days
By having a 19 day unbroken run which, as I understand it, is not legal.
342·1 month agoMy current bugbear with QR codes is that lots of folks have started putting their company logo in the middle of the code.
Sure it still works but it makes the error correction work harder so your users need to be nearer or have better cameras than they would otherwise. Annoying.
395·2 months agoAll hotels reserve the right to inspect your room whenever they need to. The privacy sign just means you don’t want room service, it’s not some magical lock.
They’d still knock, not just burst into your room to catch you in flagrante.
That said seeing the black hat conference in this way is daft.
It needs to be way way better than ‘better than average’ if it’s ever going to be accepted by regulators and the public. Without better sensors I don’t believe it will ever make it. Waymo had the right idea here if you ask me.
