There’s a station near me with hoses that are long enough to do that with most vehicles (obviously my pickup wouldn’t fit, but every car I’ve driven is fine). But I don’t think most stations have hoses long enough to do that for anything but the smallest cars.

Just a reminder that in Europe we use normal sized cars :)
So the average car here in France can definitely fuel from the wrong side. You still need to park the car close to the pump but it works.
Now if you try to do that with a Cybertruck…
…Then your confusion runs considerably deeper than which side the gasoline filler door is on!
